SinfulShine Nail Polish [Review]

What is there not to love about nail polish?? It takes you back to being a 12 year old girl, painting your toes while listening to the hottest boy band of your time… or is that just me?? Either way I was excited to get the SinfulShine polish in my Sunkissed Vox Box.

I got the Wisp color in my VoxBox but I knew I wasn’t going to use that on my fingers so I headed over to Walgreens [it’s exclusively sold there] and picked up Rendezvous. I’m not the best at application, but I did like the color.

It really does live up to the “shiny” name. However, there are some major things I didn’t like that would keep me from purchasing the product again. As I was painting my nails, the polish was going on very smooth – thick but smooth. After it dried, I noticed some air bubbles and bumps. I’m not sure if it was the polish itself or the fact that it takes FOREVER to dry and I bumped something.

I tried again on my toes using the Wisp and I didn’t notice the bumps or bubbles. But I also used only one coat and let my toes dry all day [it’s a lot easier].

Overall, I would use this again on my toes because of the shine and color options. But I would only use it on my fingers to make designs or maybe to do a French manicure – anything that doesn’t require more than one coat!

Ouchless Ribbon Elastics [Review]

I have short hair – so the ability to actually test these on my hair was lost. [sad face] But I did get to rock them on my wrist, which is actually one of the things that they advertise! If you think about it, that’s a great point because how many of us girls walk around with a “just in case” hair tie around our wrist? At least now it’s cute and fashionable. You can’t beat function AND fashion!!

But from what I could tell they had some good elasticity to them and they snapped right back into shape, even after I had worn them on my wrist all day!

The best part about them is that they come in every color and pattern that you could possibly think of. The pack that I had came with black, 2 shades of gray, pink, and purple.

I saw this group at Walmart.

Overall, even with my limited testing ability – I would still recommend this to anyone that asked.

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream [Review]

In the past I have not been super impressed with BB creams and I’ve tried two others. The Olay version is by far the best, with just one con [I’ll get to that later].

The box claims to offer these 6 skincare benefits all in one step:

• Refreshes skin instantly
• Brightens for a radiant glow
• Evens tone with a splash of sheer color
• Hydrates for 24 hours
• Smoothes for softer feeling skin
• Protects against UV damage with SPF 15

Out of these 6, I would say that only 5 were true for me. I didn’t notice a true even tone, but that could be because I have dark pigmentation issues from past breakouts. I think if the color were offered in a darker shade for use women of color that might be more applicable. It currently only comes in Fair to Light and Light to Medium. For darker skin ladies, myself included, the darkest shade can come off looking very ashy. So hopefully, Olay will add a “deep” color.

Because of its moisturizing properties, sunblock, and matte effect, it makes a perfect primer – which is how I will probably end up using it, because I like a little more coverage than it offers

Overall, I’m pretty happy with product.
